2012 – New Possibilities

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

A new year is here, and Creaza has been off to a hectic start, with the BETT 2012 show as the main focus. BETT 2012 has been completed with great success, and we met lots of old and new Creaza users. Their feedback tells us that people are very happy with Creaza and the creative and subject related possibilities it gives the students.

At BETT we were visited by a group of students from Oaks Park High School in Redbridge in London. They started using Creaza in December 2011, and have already managed to apply use of Creaza to a wide range of areas. For instance the school has conducted an E-safety project where netiquette, source evaluation and privacy were all of great importance. Below you can see two examples of what they have done.

There are also quite a few things happening when it comes to development at Creaza. We are currently working on launching a Cartoonist app, which will be available first in the App Store for iPAD, and then the Android Market for tablets with Android OS. In addition to this we are working on upgrading both the tools and the portal. Further information will be posted on our blog in the near future. Still, the possibility of collaboration with others in the different tools is at the top of our list.

Creaza will also be present at several conferences this spring. NKUL in Trondheim, SETT in Stockholm and Fronter’s Danish user conference are but a few of the many conferences we will be attending.

Even though Creaza, by and large, is considered easy to use, many wish to have a custom fitted training in order to get a better overview of the possibilities of the toolbox. Creaza is therefore often on the road and giving training. If your school or county wishes to have a training, please contact us at:

E-mail: post@creaza.com

Phone: +47 47 77 88 00

We are working on showcasing the good examples from school at Creaza’s channels. If students have created good products that one wishes to highlight at Creaza’s blog, Facebook or YouTube channel, please send us an e-mail at post@creaza.com.

Go be creative!

2011

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

What a year!

2011 has been an amazing year for Creaza with massive growth in users, usage and customers.

We are now approaching 260 000 users and have set many ATH’s, both on a daily and on a monthly basis. Especially this autumn the usage has grown substantially.

Creaza has grown throughout the world, but the countries with the largest increases in users have been Norway, Sweden and the US.

We have done many back-end improvements to make the solution more robust and have added more content.

Content:

We are especially happy with the theme “You and Me” that has been used by students across the world in an effort to prevent bullying and unwanted behavior.

NRK Skole + Creaza

And of course the theme “NRK – skole” for our Norwegian Feide-users.

Movie clips provided to Norwegian students from Norway’s national broadcaster.

Technology:
On the back-end side we have added more servers, greatly improved the export-service (including 720p exports for Premium users) and we are now moving parts of our service to Amazon to provide an even better user experience for the students and teachers using Creaza. We are very happy with the result and hope users enjoy the creative possibilities Creaza provides.

As the end of 2011 is approaching we are happy to announce that Creaza, in a project together with Norwegian Centre for ICT in education (Ministry of Education), have developed a solution for collaboration between users in the Creaza tools.

We are also very happy to say that Creaza will launch a Cartoonist app for the iPad in App Store.

These solutions will be launched for the EDU – marked in 2012 and we will present our iPad app at BETT 2012. More on this in a later Blog post.

A lot has happened in the creative Creaza World in 2011. Even more will happen in 2012. We are looking forward to it.

We hope to see many of our users and followers in 2012.

BETT 2012:

Creaza will definitively be present at BETT 2012 in London January 11th – 14th. This year we are moving to the ground floor to a bigger Stand (J45) and we are collaborating with two other great creative Norwegian companies,

BETT, NOT, ATH, CREATE – SHARE – LISTEN – and You & Me, Marrakech and Music ;-)

Friday, February 4th, 2011

Creaza had an incredible week in London at BETT 2011. (The world’s leading event for educational technology where education professionals can evaluate and purchase a comprehensive range of ICT products and services.)

A week filled with presentations, networking, branding and meeting customers  really confirmed to us that Creaza is being used a lot. We met hundreds of users and a lot of people within the education sector who all showed an interest in Creaza. A common theme is that our product always gives us the possibility to make people smile ;-)

Check highlights from BETT here: http://www.bettshow.com/bett11/website/Home.aspx?refer=1

For BETT 2012 we will move on to an even larger stand to meet the growing interest. More to come on this..

Creaza participated at NOT together with Fronter in Utrecht in the Netherlands in the end of January. It was an extraordinary stand with Creaza buttons all over and we met both existing and potential customers. NOT is the largest educational event in the Netherlands.

In the City of Oslo all students and teachers have access to Creaza, and they use it!
Nearly 30 000 people have used Creaza in Oslo since august 2010.

500 teachers from Oslo participated at the conference “Den digitale Osloskolen” Wednesday this week. We received a lot of positive feedback on how their students may use Creaza’s creative tools to create and produce and thereby show their skills and competence.

This week usage of Creaza was at an All Time High both when counting different users and unique products being produced. We like it!

This weekend Creaza will participate at the international CREATE – SHARE – LISTEN conference in Lillehammer, Norway. We are looking forward to meeting Digital Storytellers from all over the world.  You can find the conference website here: http://lillehammer2011.wordpress.com/

New content:

Brand new theme to be launched

A spring release with new content is coming up for all our Premium users. A brand new theme called “You & Me” will be released in February. We will be back with more on the possibilities this theme provides when release is a fact!

In our MovieEditor theme “Geographical Places” 20+ new movie clips from Marrakech will be released. How is daily life in Marrakech? All Premium users will get access medio February.

AND! A lot of new music tracks is on its way. All using Creaza Premium will get about 400 new Music tracks they may edit, mix, slice and use together with all of the movie clips.

The large German event “Didacta” is being held in Stuttgart Germany from February 22nd to February 26th. Creaza will be there. We will be at Halle 1, Gang L, Stand 51 together with our partner Fronter.

Approaching Christmas and some lazy days

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

2010 has been an amazing year for Creaza!

The tools have been greatly improved in several ways. We now believe Creaza provides the most powerful online video-editor on the web, with Creaza MovieEditor.

Additional content and new themes have been released. Usage has grown a lot and Creaza is being used across the world. We are very happy with the result and hope users enjoy the creative possibilities Creaza provides.

As the end of 2010 is approaching we are happy to announce that Creaza now has an agreement with the City of Stockholm ensuring that all secondary students (and their teachers) in Stockholm City will have access to Creaza Premium from January 2011. The same goes for all students in the City of Oslo, both primary and secondary. Together these two customers represent almost 100 000 students.

We are happy that Creaza has been accepted as qualified software within the IT-Catalogue of the IT supplier “Zentrum für Informationstechnologie im Bildungsbereich der Landeshauptstadt München”. Creaza is now an official supplier of digital tools and content in the City of Munich!

Creaza now has agreements with many of the cities in the Gothenburg-Region collaboration. Learners and teachers in the City of Stenungsund now have access to Creaza Premium.

A lot has happened in the creative Creaza World in 2010. Even more will happen in 2011. We are looking forward to it ;-)

We hope to see many of our users and followers in 2011. We will be at BETT in London January 13th – 16th. Visit Creaza at stand V53 to see powerful, creative online tools in education. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date on what’s happening..

Creaza – What’s up?

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

Due to a hectic period we have not posted anything on the blog this last month! Sorry!

A lot has been happening and Creaza has travelled a lot to meet, present and train learners, teachers, headmasters and many more. We have visited users and potential users in cities across Europe. It has been a thrill with extraordiarily positive feedback on the product and its potential in the learner`s digital environment.

During the autumn we have also released a lot of new stuff, some examples are:

  • Content from Oslo
  • Content from Venice
  • Content from Florence
  • Highlights from Norway
  • More content from Rome
  • Various movieclips from Palermo and Sicily
  • Creaza is available in French – www.creaza.fr
  • Creaza is available in Spanish – www.creaza.es

We are working in order to add even more content early this January, and the things we are working on is a completely new Cartoonist theme, and a lot more music and sound. The Cartoonist theme is not yet named, but consists of elements which are possible to use in work with social skills, e-safety, puberty, girls and boys, issues with bullying, you and me and much more…

Users make incredible stuff using Creaza’s tools and content. Some also primarily use their own stuff and only the tools.

Watch this nice video produced by a swedish user with the theme “Water”. He has used different content and functionality in Creaza and combined that with his own sound, music and voice-over.

The same user produced this slideshow from his cartoon on “Ancient Greece”:

We are approaching 2011 and a new year always starts with the BETT Show. Creaza will be there, of course, with our own booth at V53. We will also do a presentation at the Pearson booth at BETT. Visit Pearson on the ground floor, at B40 and C40 on January 12th at 16.00 to 16.45 for a Creaza presentation. More on BETT to come on our Blog.

We hope that you follow Creaza on Facebook as well: www.creaza.com/facebook.

Post your products for others to be inspired ;-)

Enjoy December ;-)

Creaza is developing and growing ;-)

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

It has been a busy time since BETT 2010 for Creaza. We have been developing a lot and travelling a lot.

Aladdin vs Ali Baba

Creaza has been visable in Helsinki, Trondheim, Lørenskog,  London and Lillestrøm doing meetings, conferences and presentations for different people within the educational systems in the different countries. All people and places very successful, interesting and providing Creaza a lot of feedback from existing users and potential users.

Creaza is translated into 6 languages in addition to Norwegian of course. Try English, Swedish, Finnish, Danish, Dutch, and German. Creaza is being used in all those languages and all over the world. There are people using Creaza in Quatar, Jordan, South Corea, Russia, Spain and way up north in Norway in the city called Hammerfest.

Together with Fronter Norway and the City of Oslo we are doing an exciting small project with 8 schools using Creaza towards the goals in the Norwegian curriculum. Students from the age of 7 to 17 is participating along with their teachers. The project is running until summer 2010. On monday we have a kick-off with the teachers running each schools project.

March 16th to 18th  Creaza will be in Cologne in Germany together with Fronter Germany on the “didacta“, a large K12 conference.  We will do presentations every day on the stand and also have a seminar. Visit us at Halle 10 Stand C001.

18th and 19th of March Creaza will also participate at the Danish Fronter user conference in Fredericia doing several presentations on “possibilities” and “how to use Creaza”

BUT:

Creaza was shortlisted for the BETT Awards 2010. We didn`t win in our category, BBC did. Congrats..  Still we have gotten the feedback from the judges. Very good. We are happy about the feedback and our developement had started in the same directions long before the feedback. The judges said:

The product offers clear instruction and guidance and four well-contrasted tools.

  • The open-ended software enables choice and creativity across the curriculum and is accessible for all learners (One of our goals with Creaza)
  • The mind mapping, in particular, is simple and clear to use (Oh yeah!)
Your entry was chosen as a finalist for the following reasons:
  • The wide variety of tools and the ability to link seamlessly with the MLE is an excellent feature that will have to become standard on this type of product. (Agree)
The judges were asked how your entry could be improved. Here are their comments:
  • The cartoonist would be enhanced if it included the option to add sound. (Possible today)
  • Links between the different aspects of the software would be welcome. For instance, it could be linked into the option to produce one document incorporating all four tools ( ;-) )

Would you be surprised if the last comment of improvement would be realised? We would not. We are thinking and planning for a 5th tool. Combining the 4 other tools and a lot of more possibilities. More to come on that ;-)

IF we make it. Creaza 3.1 will be released by the end of week 11. How many layers of video and audio do you want? Arabian nights to be released. Berlin movieclips in the World Cities thematic Universe. A lot of new content and functionality will be released. Of course we will inform you all about this on the Blog!
