2012 – New Possibilities

A new year is here, and Creaza has been off to a hectic start, with the BETT 2012 show as the main focus. BETT 2012 has been completed with great success, and we met lots of old and new Creaza users. Their feedback tells us that people are very happy with Creaza and the creative and subject related possibilities it gives the students.

At BETT we were visited by a group of students from Oaks Park High School in Redbridge in London. They started using Creaza in December 2011, and have already managed to apply use of Creaza to a wide range of areas. For instance the school has conducted an E-safety project where netiquette, source evaluation and privacy were all of great importance. Below you can see two examples of what they have done.

There are also quite a few things happening when it comes to development at Creaza. We are currently working on launching a Cartoonist app, which will be available first in the App Store for iPAD, and then the Android Market for tablets with Android OS. In addition to this we are working on upgrading both the tools and the portal. Further information will be posted on our blog in the near future. Still, the possibility of collaboration with others in the different tools is at the top of our list.

Creaza will also be present at several conferences this spring. NKUL in Trondheim, SETT in Stockholm and Fronter’s Danish user conference are but a few of the many conferences we will be attending.

Even though Creaza, by and large, is considered easy to use, many wish to have a custom fitted training in order to get a better overview of the possibilities of the toolbox. What a year!

2011 has been an amazing year for Creaza with massive growth in users, usage and customers.

We are now approaching 260 000 users and have set many ATH’s, both on a daily and on a monthly basis. Especially this autumn the usage has grown substantially.

Creaza has grown throughout the world, but the countries with the largest increases in users have been Norway, Sweden and the US.

We have done many back-end improvements to make the solution more robust and have added more content.

Content:

We are especially happy with the theme “You and Me” that has been used by students across the world in an effort to prevent bullying and unwanted behavior.

And of course the theme “NRK – skole” for our Norwegian Feide-users.

Technology:

On the back-end side we have added more servers, greatly improved the export-service (including 720p exports for Premium users) and we are now moving parts of our service to Amazon to provide an even better user experience for the students and teachers using Creaza. We are very happy with the result and hope users enjoy the creative possibilities Creaza provides.

As the end of 2011 is approaching we are happy to announce that Creaza, in a project together with Norwegian Centre for ICT in education (Ministry of Education), have developed a solution for collaboration between users in the Creaza tools.

We are also very happy to say that Creaza will launch a Cartoonist app for the iPad in App Store.

These solutions will be launched for the EDU – marked in 2012 and we will present our iPad app at BETT 2012. More on this in a later Blog post.

A lot has happened in the creative Creaza World in 2011. Even more will happen in 2012. We are looking forward to it.

We hope to see many of our users and followers in 2012.

BETT 2012:

Creaza will definitively be present at BETT 2012 in London January 11th – 14th. This year we are moving to the ground floor to a bigger Stand (J45) and we are collaborating with two other great creative Norwegian companies,

Creaza on tour

Creaza has begun this school year by doing a lot of travelling and we will continue to do so in the near future.

Last week Creaza visited Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim providing training together with Lokus and Aschehoug. This week is all about providing training in Oslo.

Next week, 28. – 30. of September, Creaza will participate at Fronter Norway’s User conference. There will be several presentations where schools have been using Creaza in teaching and learning. We will also have a stand and look forward to meet existing and new users.

The following week, 3. – 4. of October, Creaza will participate at Fronter Sweden’s User conference. There will be several presentations where schools have been using Creaza in teaching and learning. There will also be a workshop so that teacher may get that hands-on feeling. We will also have a stand and look forward to meet existing and new users.

To all the Swedish users we would like to give a reminder on the outstanding tutorial on Creaza made by Skolverket in Sweden

Summer 2011

Happy 4th of July!

Creaza wishes all customers, users and followers a very good summer. Many of our educational users are now on their summer holiday, while others are starting their school vacation quite soon.

A lot has happened this spring and Creaza is very proud to have made agreements with several cities in Norway and Sweden lately. Some of these are:

The city of Oslo has signed an agreement for two years for all their students and teachers.

The city of Drammen (with the ambitious goal of making their schools the best in Norway) has signed a two year agreement with the option of extending it for two more years. All learners and teachers in Drammen will get access to Creaza Premium through Feide from the start of the school year in August.

The city of Sande has signed a two year agreement with the option of extending it for two more years. All learners and teachers in Sande will get access to Creaza Premium through Feide from the start of the school year in August.

In Sweden the two cities Forshaga and Kil have signed an agreement to use Creaza Premium through their learning Platform, Fronter.

The school year 2010 – 2011 has been an exciting year for Creaza and we look forward to an even more creative year together with our users in 2011 – 2012.

NRK Skole + Creaza = Sant

We appologize to all our English readers for this post in Norwegian, but the reason is that this news concerns our Norwegian customers spesific! Creaza has teamed up with NRK (Norwegian National Broadcaster), to provide the possibility to edit video footage from NRK.

Gledelig nyhet til alle norske Creaza-kunder og til alle utdanningsinstitusjoner som er FEIDE-klare.

NRK Skole og Creaza AS har inngått en samarbeidsavtale. Norske elever kan nå redigere og mikse sine egne versjoner av utvalgte filmklipp NRK Skole leverer til norsk utdanningssektor.

Elevenes sluttprodukter kan publiseres gjennom NRK Skole sine kanaler dersom eleven ønsker dette og dersom innholdet egner seg for publisering.

Alle utdanningsinstitusjoner som tilbyr FEIDE-pålogging til sine elever og ansatte kan nå be om tilgang til tjenesten på vegne av sine brukere via kundeportalen til FEIDE. Utdanningsinstitusjonen må på vegne av sine brukere akseptere brukervilkår for tjenesten.

NRK Skole og Creaza er svært fornøyd med at alle norske Creaza-kunder og NRK Skole – brukere (med FEIDE-pålogging) nå får tilgang til å redigere deler av kulturarven og sette sammen sine egen filmmikser. Dette gir elevene større muligheter til å være kreative og skapende i en skolefaglig kontekst.

Today Creaza will unveil its new cloud based, online video platform at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
