Termination of demo user access trough Fronter

For the last year, it has been possible to use the demo version of Creaza with a single-sign-on solution trough Fronter (VLE/MLE). This is no longer possible. From monday 17th of August you have to have purchased Creaza for your school to benefit from the great integration between Fronter and Creaza. If you have been using the demo version, your work will still be available trough Fronter, but it will not be possible to create new products. For the schools and LA’s that have purchased Creaza, everything will still be available only with more functionality.

For Norwegian readers:
På oppdrag fra Kunnskapsdepartementet ble det i juni lagt frem en rapport om NDLA, Nasjonal Digital Læringsarena. Som vedlegg til hovedrapporten ble det utarbeidet en læremiddelanalyse. Hovedrapporten sier noe om NDLA sin styrker og svakheter som helhet, mens læremiddelanalysen tar for seg deler av de læremidlene som NDLA har laget, kjøpt eller lenker opp til. I den forbindelse har Creaza fått særdeles mye spalteplass og det primært veldig positivt. NDLA lenker opp til Creaza og har også utarbeidet materiale om hvordan Creaza fungerer.

Creaza har ikke noe formelt samarbeid med NDLA og brukere fra NDLA har heller ikke tilgang til annet enn demoversjonen av Creaza. Det er også demoversjonen av Creaza man har tatt utgangspunkt i ved utarbeidelse av læremiddelrapporten. I så måte har Creaza enormt mye mer innhold, funksjonalitet og integrasjoner man kan vise til, men dette vet vi ikke om de som har utarbeidet rapporten kjenner til. I tillegg til det som følger i demoversjonen finnes det en lang rekke flere universer til både tegneserieverktøyet og filmklipperen. Det er også stor forskjell på funksjonalitet, spesielt i Filmklipperen, mellom demoversjon og fullversjon. NDLA som prosjekt, organisasjon og læremidler er meget omdiskutert og det er mange meninger.

Creaza er uansett svært fornøyd med at rapporten viser til Creaza som en ”nyskapende ressurs” og sier at ”Applikasjonene som gjøres tilgjengelige gjennom Creaza bringer inn en viktig dimensjon i
forhold til målgruppene, og det gjelder det kreativt skapende. I forhold til mye av det som eksisterer innen rammen av NDLA er det her lagt vekt på det kreative element og interaktivitet i større grad.”

Little Red Riding Hood

The Book Chook has done a great review. The Book Chook has done a review of Cartoonist by presenting the work with the thematic universe “Little Red Riding Hood”. The review is thorough, and we are looking forward to the upcoming review of the Movie Editor.

In the Movie Editor two new Cities are launched in the World Cities Thematic Universe. In addition to London, Paris and Rome there are new Movie clips from Barcelona and Istanbul. Budapest and Oslo will be released before 15. of August. Berlin is coming during the autumn and several cities are planned.

Today we also launched Creaza in Swedish and complete new functionality were released. You have now the opportunity to import your Cartoons into the Movie Editor. If you do this you can also read in your own text with the soundrecorder in Creaza or you can add music to your Cartoons. This gives pupils and teachers new possible pedagogical approaches in the education..
